The Description
The independent puppet theater Buchty a loutky and the well-known Collegium Marianum ensemble together created an original musical-puppet rendition of Händel's Baroque Opera, which connects the puppet theater with live actors-actors and the musical accompaniment of the Baroque ensemble. The theatrical form is again based on the principles of Baroque theater, including theatrical "miracles and illusions", conceived in a way typical of the Buchty a loutky theater. Large carved puppets, even in life-size, come to life in harmony with their living counterparts. The project builds on previous successful collaborations in the performance of Czech Christmas and the Baroque opera Calisto and was created with the support of grants from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the City of Prague (Buchty a loutky), and in collaboration with Händel-Festspiele Halle in original English with German subtitles.
