THE LOSERS
The puppet film for adults Chcípáci divky Buchty a loutky is a tribute to junk and fallen stories. A seemingly fatal conflict is overwhelmed by an equally fatal, if not even more fatal, love, not one, but four. The villain is driven into a corner and love wins. The art side of the film is full of combinations of brutal details, repulsive alternating cuddly, just like in life. The film debut of famous toy players doesn't play anything, they just play. She's playing. Witness a new, aging wave of puppet film!
Kuky returns
A feature puppet film for the whole family, a unique project by the prominent Czech director Jan Svěrák. Part of the film was shot outdoors, small part in the studio. Specific guidance of puppets by various means - threads, wires, combinations of both. In post-production, this is removed. The procedure was original, everything was filmed at twice the final rate.
Strings
The Danish animated film from 2004, imaginatively connecting the framework of a classic fairy tale with elements of a heroic epic, Hamlet tragedy, Tolkien sagas, Japanese anime and modern sci-fi, was directed by Dane Anders Ronnow Klarlund. The puppets were led by Radek Beran, Vítek Brukner and Tomáš Procházka.
Normalization puppet
Snapshot The normalizing puppet looks through children's eyes at the time of normalization. It brings closer the world of school, concrete playgrounds and pioneer meetings, a world that punishes every deviation from the ranks. The main character of the film is far from heroic, so the choices he makes over the course of his life are not really real choices. Like many others, he becomes a gray mouse. The film, inspired by real events from the authors' lives, was created in collaboration with People in Need and the Buns and Puppets theater ensemble. The puppet passages are interspersed with many archival footage.
Antichrist
The antichrist of the Danish director Lars von Trier is controversial, beautiful, disgusting, anti-therapeutic .... Tomáš Procházka and Vítek Brukner also worked on one of the scenes, who stated the following in one interview about this collaboration: " So we've been known for knowing how to guide puppets over the years, and we're actually one of those people who approach each other on similar occasions. It was filmed in Germany, really in the woods, but Lars von Trier wasn't even there, he has an army of assistants for things like that, it's actually still related to the theater. in real time".
Seventeen
A documentary by Tomáš Petrán about eighteen years of the Buchta a loutky theater. The film old-aged teenagers about theatrical adolescence, about the miracle that holds them together and how those years somehow passed quickly. ... The advantage of the Seventeen is the high degree of "self-sustaining". Although the film primarily offers an unorthodox look behind the scenes of the theater ensemble, it can be enjoyed very well "just like that", as a funny, clever and slightly surreal spectacle. Although fans of Buchet and puppets have an edge in watching it, for everyone else it can be an unexpectedly helpful offer to get acquainted with (not only) theatrical poetics, which has long been one of the most sympathetic Czech theater has to offer ...
